Who are we?

The V NLS NMC is being organised by the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore, India in association with the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the International Negotiation Competition (INC). 

Can I mark my calendar?

The competition is to be held from May 9 - 12, 2019. It will be hosted by the National Law School of India University, Bangalore, India.

What does this have to do with ICC and INC?

The winners of the Mediation (Client-Attorney) tournament shall get a direct entry to the 15th ICC International Commercial Mediation Competition to be held in 2020 at Paris, France. The winners of the Negotiation Competition shall represent India at the International Negotiation Competition, 2019 to be held at Tokyo, Japan. Given that the negotiation segment shall act as the national qualifier for the International Negotiation Competition, international teams will unfortunately not be able to participate in this segment.

I’m interested. How do I sign up?

The registration process involves two phases: Application Form Submission and Selection of Universities. At the end of this process, the selected University will participate in the V NLS NMC. 

Slots in each segment will be offered to different Universities on the basis of their application in that particular segment. The permissible team strengths are as follows:

·            Negotiation: Team of 2

·            Mediation (Client-Attorney): Team of 2-4 

·            Mediation (Mediator): Team of 1

·            Client Counselling: Team of 2

Have a few spare days after you’ve enjoyed the NMC experience and want to see India?

We are pleased to announce that NLS NMC is collaborating with the National Law School Trilegal International Arbitration Moot (NLSTIAM), to provide you a visit to Bangalore, and an opportunity to explore India, that you will not forget! 

For the universities which choose to participate in both the NLS NMC from May 9th-12th, and the NLSTIAM from May 17th-19th, the organising committees will subsidise your stay, and provide you with a tour of the garden city of India, Bangalore, and the surrounding areas, in the 4 days between the Competitions. Teams will be able to retain the same accommodation throughout their 10-day sojourn here. 

While the registration invites for NLS NMC have been attached to this mail, please contact your University's Moot Court co-ordinators to register for NLSTIAM or send a mail to nlstiam@nls.ac.in.

Great. How long do I have to make up my mind?

The Application Process for the V NLS NMC will start tentatively around mid-December. We’ll be sending out the details regarding the same when the Application Process commences.
